Pakistan stands isolated, claims Nisar Khuhro

KARACHI: Addressing a press conference at Bilawal House along with division presidents and union councilors who joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), senior Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Khuhro has said that Pakistan has lost its image at the international levels.

“Due to the bad governance and worse foreign relations, Pakistan has lost its worth in the world,” he said. “Afghanistan refuses to talk on any point with Pakistan while Iran opens fires on us; Pakistan is under pressure and no one wants to extend the hand of friendship or even sympathy.”

Recalling the premier’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, he said that he was not given due respect over there even though he was the prime minister of a country.

To a question, he said that attack on social media is an attack on the freedom of people; Pakistani people are well aware about the existing issues and about the performance of the government, thus they have right to comment over any issue, which is their basic right.

Replying to a question related to Kulbhushan Jadhav, he said that International Court of Justice had asked Pakistan to appoint a judge which could properly present the issue before the court but the government sent a lawyer rather a judge, consequences are in front of you.

He also expressed dissatisfaction towards the decision taken by the Supreme Court of forming Joint Investigation Team (JIT),”the court could have made a JIT before the proceeding of the case but they did not”.

“Time to criticize the government is when it fails in its performance. PPP has told people at least 36 times about the bad governance through media by conducting different conferences and talks”, people are well aware of the current proceedings in the country”. Replying to a question related to National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, he said that government is not serious about this topic and it does not want to devolve powers to the provinces. The government in spite of being in 2/3rd majority has failed to provide the due rights to its people. To a question, he said that various parties make alliances against the PPP but later they relinquish and disappear.” They do horse trading not politics”.

For sharing the burden and responsibility of Chief Minister we have shared some more portfolios with ministers. “It is the constitutional requirement as it prohibits having not more than 18 ministers, thus we handed over some departments to ministers.
