Talking to reporters at a press conference after visiting former Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia. The former is detained by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on corruption charges. On the question of ruling on NA-122, the opposition leader said that the judgement of Election Tribunal Judge Kazim Malik was a mixture and the former speaker had a right to move the Supreme Court.Criticizing the role of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qasim Zia’s arrest was tantamount to victimising the PPP. He also declared that the arrest was not acceptable.

Shah reached the court along with a large number of party workers. PPP leaders Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Raja Riaz, Naveed Chaudhry, Shaukat Basra, Raja Amir and Khurram Jehangir Wattoo were also present. To a question, he said that Qasim Zia was under pressure to change his loyalties, but the staunch PPP worker had refused. The opponents have now unleashed a witch hunting against him for that reason, he added.

When the party leaders were asked that they wanted to pressure NAB, they said Qasim Zia is a national hero as well as a politician so all of them have reached here to show solidarity with him.
