Bajaur tribal jirga pledges support against terrorism

BAJAUR: The elders of Utman Khel tribe of Bajaur Agency have assured the local administration their support in maintaining peace and thwarting militant activities in the area. This announcement was made by the elders of various areas of Arang area of Utman Khel tehsil during a jirga with Assistant Political Agent Sohail Ahmed Khan in his office. Several issues, including law and order situation and investigation of the roadside bomb blast in Arang that killed two senior tribal elders, were discussed in the jirga. The jirga participants expressed concern over the bomb blast and expressed sympathies with the family members of Malik Dawa Khan and Malik Gul Kareem Khan, who died in it. Speaking on the occasion, the assistant political agent said the administration was committed to maintaining peace and writ of the government in the agency at every cost, as peace was vital for sustainable development of the region. He asked the elders to end clashes and take concrete efforts to ensure peace in their area.
