Pro-govt tribal leader killed in Bajaur Agency blast

KHAR – A pro-government tribal leader was killed in a remote controlled bomb blast in Barchamar Kundi area of Nawagai tehsil of Bajaur Agency here on Thursday.

The slain tribal leader was identified as Malik Gul Raheem. According to details, the explosives were planted on the corner of a road. The vehicle of Malik Gul Raheem was completely destroyed in the blast. Security forces and Levis personnel surrounded the area after the blast and launched a search operation.

The political administration has started the investigation of the incident. Meanwhile, the Taliban has claimed responsibility of the attack. In a statement, the Taliban spokesman said that Malik Gul Raheem was targeted due to his cooperation with the security forces
