ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission has started the process of new delimitation of constituencies for 50 union councils for upcoming local government elections in the federal capital.
According to the schedule, preliminary list of constituencies will be prepared from Saturday of this month to September 22. The preliminary list will be published from September 26-30 for inviting representations and objections. The process of filing of representations and objections before the delimitation authority will be held from October 1-5.
Representations and objections will be disposed of from October 6-10. Last date for communication of decisions of delimitation authority to delimitation officer is October 11. Final notification of delimitation of constituencies will be issued on October 13.
Earlier on Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the schedule of local government elections for Islamabad. The elections will be held on November 30.
