ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday announced bye-elections in NA-122 and NA-154 on October 11 and also appointed returning officers in this regard.According to a notification issued on Monday, the ECP has appointed Bannu Election Commissioner Ahmed Nawaz as district returning officer, Muzaffargarh District Election Commissioner Zahid Iqbal as returning officer and three assistant returning officers for bye-elections in NA-122 on the vacant seat of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The ECP also appointed Multan Election Commissioner Ghulam Israr Khan as district returning officer, Aamir Ishfaq Qureshi, returning officer Multan and two assistant returning officers for bye-election in NA-154 on the vacant seat of Muhammad Siddique Baloch.
According to the ECP, the election candidates may submit their nomination papers from September 10 and September 11, while scrutiny of the papers will take place between September 14 and 15. The candidates can file their appeals to the tribunals against the decisions of the returning officers till September 17 and tribunals would decide on their appeals on September 19. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until September 21 and on the same day the final list of candidates will be published. The polling will be held on October 11.
