Sir: It is heartening to learn about self-sufficiency and the export of pedestal fans but at the same time it is disheartening to observe the performance of these fans. The fans manufactured in our country are often noisy and have speed regulation defects. The best pedestal fans, I bought in the 1980s, were manufactured by a renowned Gujranwala factory, which are no longer in production after the sad demise of the factory founder.
The local sale and export of fans can be increased if the fan manufacturers association announces a handsome prize for the best design of pedestal fan with features like better regulation of low, medium and high speeds, without sacrificing the present volume of air at high speed.
