Corruption cases registered against eight district officers

SARGODHA: Officials of anti-corruption department registered cases against eight officers of Khushab district accounts office on corruption charges on Wednesday.

An official said that on the complainant of Muhammad Khalil, an enquiry was conducted against eight officials of accounts office. On the recommendations of the inquiry officer, cases were registered against them.

The accused officials, who had embezzled millions of rupees from pention and Government Provident (GP) funds, were identified as deputy accountants Mubashir Akhtar, and Abdul Rauf, Muhammad Rafiq, Abdul Majid, Omer Hayat, Ansar Farooq, Mushtaq and Nasir Rauf.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case against a deputy tehsildar and reader of the revenue department in Khushab over corruption charges.
