Ziarat festival

Author: Daily Times

Sir: A seven-day Ziarat festival was concluded recently. The festival proved that the province had got rid of the fear of terrorism and the people of Balochistan are enjoying a peaceful environment after several years.

The festival provided the people an outlet to enjoy themselves along with their families. Various sport events were held during the festival. In addition to a performance by schoolchildren, Frontier Corps personnel participated in a musical show and Levies presented a salute. These are all healthy activities and show that Balochistan does not lack in the spirit of camaraderie. I think the media should highlight this festival so all of Pakistan can enjoy festivities. Balochistan is always in the media for all the wrong reasons but we should also highlight something positive. Let us give the people of Balochistan a chance to celebrate and enjoy. In fact, more such festivals should be held on a regular basis.
