Sir: Parents are rightly protesting the steep fee increases of private schools. The astronomical amounts of money being demanded by the elite schools in our country are enough to make one’s head spin! It is not enough that average, middle income families are working from day to night trying to provide the many lakhs of rupees these schools charge, the fee structure is revised at least once a year to accommodate as much as 30 percent increases. There is no way straight-laced breadwinners can afford that kind of increase.
It is pleaded that the government take swift action and also improve the state of public schools so that the private school mafia is put in its place.
