Polio cases

Author: Daily Times

Sir: It is really disappointing to mention that in Pakistan, two polio cases have been reported again, one in Balochistan and the other in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). During the current year, a total of 34 polio cases were reported. These include 14 from KP, 10 from FATA, six from Balochistan and four cases were detected in Sindh.

It is good news that no case has been found in Punjab. In Balochistan, a three-day anti-polio drive was launched and the next campaign will be launched in October. The provincial government in Balochistan is striving hard to improve the situation. Earlier, in 2014, a total of 234 polio cases were reported but this year only 34 cases were found. It means that the situation regarding control on polio is improving day by day in Pakistan.
