Khawaja Asif’s immaturity

Author: Daily Times

Sir: I have high respect and regards for Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Water and Power for his political struggle and contribution to democracy. But, I was extremely surprised to watch him appearing on a live TV programme on October 14, 2015 specially to tell the people that he has not been on talking terms with Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for the last four years. I would like to point out that surely the energy-starved people of Pakistan would like to hear from Khawaja Asif what he has done so far during last two and a half years as Federal Minister for Water and Power to solve the energy shortage in the country rather than happily telling the public that he is not on talking terms with his fellow Interior Minister. The masses expect from Khawaja Asif to spend maximum time and energy to reduce load shedding by catching power thieves, reducing line losses and expediting completion of power projects that are in the pipeline.

I think it is for the first time in the history of Pakistan that two sitting federal ministers are not talking to each other. This situation is not good for the country and I am sure this might be damaging for the PML-N too. I cannot understand what was the need for Khawaja Asif to share this information with the public?
