He was the only captain under whose leadership Pakistan became the champion in the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup. Second, he is the leading Pakistani batsman who crossed 10,000 runs in test matches and he is included among the batsmen who scored more than 300 runs in an innings. The services of the veteran batsman will long be remembered.
