LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab Organiser Chaudhary Sarwar on Wednesday announced to gather all opposition parties on one platform to start a struggle against those who “rigged” the by-elections.
He said an All-Parties Conference (APC) would be called after December 5 to discuss a strategy. Talking to media persons at his office, he also announced that the third phase of local government election campaigning in Rawalpindi would commence from November 27. The PTI, he said, plans to hold public meetings at more than 200 places till elections that are scheduled for December 5. Sawar said PTI would also struggle to ensure that the Punjab government gives due powers to the local government representatives. The PTI has been successful in organising and strengthening the party at union council level, he claimed.
Sarwar demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should learn from its mistakes and ensure transparent and fair elections in the third phase.
