PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser Friday announced the scheduled for election of the deputy speaker, a position that had been vacant for the last one year. Responding to a point of order of Aurangzeb Nalotha of PML N, the Speaker said that a summary in this regard has already been sent to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that nominations for the post of deputy speaker will be filed on December 21 while polling will be held on December 22. Taking to the floor on a point of order, Aurangzeb pointed out that seat of deputy speaker in the house is vacant for a period of last one year and due to which the house is incomplete. Therefore, he asked the Speaker to announce schedule for the election of deputy speaker. The PML N MPA said that according to rules, the running of the proceedings of the house is the responsibility of the speaker. Therefore, he said they are expecting announcement in this regard from the chair. He said that due to the lack of deputy speaker, the proceedings of the house continued for a long period.
