ISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that Pakistan would see the dawn of progress and prosperity soon and emerge as a peaceful, strong and prosperous country with a positive impact on the quality of life of the people.

He was addressing the 82nd Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology here at the Convention Centre. The president said that the country would achieve progress with the completion of ongoing development projects and earn a high place in the comity of nations. He asked the students to acquire higher education, uphold their religious and moral norms and never let down their Pakistani identity as this was the key to excel and achieve progress. In a globalised world, significance of attaining progress in science and technology had increased, he said.

The president expressed satisfaction that the government was paying attention towards the important sector of education so that the people could benefit from scientific knowledge. He, however, said that in this regard heavy responsibility fell on educational institutions as well. The educational institutions and all stakeholders should cooperate with the government for designing the curriculum on modern lines, he said.

He said that along with education the government was working with dedication for economic stability which included many projects of electricity generation and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
