PA adjourns session without discussing Rangers issue

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly on Friday adjourned session once again without moving resolution regarding extension in Pakistan Rangers special powers in the metropolitan.

However, the session accepted a resolution to pay tribute to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) late member Makhdoom Amin Fahim. According to details, Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani suspended the agenda of the assembly and allowed Education Minister Nisar Khuhro to put forth a resolution in remembrance of the late leader. The participants paid rich tribute to Fahim for efforts to strengthen democracy in the country.

Dr Sikandar Mendro said that late Fahim always wanted to build a hospital for the impoverished. He said that PPP’s late leader’s social and political services would always be remembered. PPP’s MPA Khairunnisa Mughal said that Fahim’s demise is the biggest loss of the party after late prime minister (PM) Benazir Bhutto. Manzoor Wasan said that the leader would be remembered always.

Eexclusively talking to Daily Times, PML-F member in Sindh Assembly Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said, “We all admire the services of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, but it has become the tradition of PPP to turn the table on dead and martyr leaders. She said when Makhdoom Amin Fahim was alive, the party ignored him and his services. “It was the time to offer him premiership in PPP government, but the PPP pushed him to the corners and sidelined him. He also felt such injustice and was remained silent till his death,” she maintained.

On the other hand corrupt leaders were offered the Premiership of Pakistan, which was injustice against legend veteran leader Makhdoomhe Amin Fahim was also felt by everyone on different occasions.

Nusrat further said there are numerous issues of province among law and order situation, but the PPP wasted his time all the day to boost in Sindh Assembly session in the name of great leader Makhdoom she said. Earlier on December 10, the session was adjourned without discussion over the matter of Rangers‘ policing powers.

Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan said that there are no reservations on Karachi operation, but on some incidents. On the other hand, Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah has said that the government has no falling-out with Pakistan Rangers and the force will get extension in its stay in Karachi.
