LAHORE: Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), which is celebrated on 12th Rabiul Awal in each Islamic year, would be observed across the country with religious zeal and fervour today (Thursday).
In this regard, preparations for Eid Miladun Nabi have been finalised by the citizens and City District Government Lahore (CDGL). The streets, markets, houses, roads, buildings and mosques have been decorated with colourful lights, green buntings and other decorated items. The government buildings including Town Hall, DCO Office, Town offices, Lahore Arts Council (LAC) have also been illuminated to celebrate the Eid.
Several Eid Miladun Nabi processions would be taken out from the different areas of the city to express devotedness with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Moreover, in spiritual and religious programmes, the religious scholars would highlight different aspects of life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the greatest educator of mankind who struggled for the prosperity of humanity.
All the government and private educational institutions would remain closed today, as announced by the provincial government.
Lahore DCO Captain (r) Muhammad Usman said that CDGL have finalised all arrangements to facilitate participants of the procession. Police officials, bomb disposal squad and volunteers of civil defence would be deployed to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion, he added. A special 18th torch-bearing procession took out from Hazrat Ali Hajveri shrineto Regal Chowk, The Mall on Wednesday. During the procession, hundreds of citizens participated along with camels, horses and horse-carts, and also carried banners, inscribed with religiously motivated slogans. On the procession routes, fireworks were also displayed.
