Author: Marryam Suleman

– You will be nagged every hour by your mom about being obese and eventually end up on a crash diet.

– You were about to Google tips for weight loss but then came – Aloo ka Paratha.

– Your relatives will keep harping on about working on a good diet plan at every “dawat”, which eventually kills your appetite, but will then say “beta kha kyun nahin rahi?”

– You will watch morning shows for desi totkas, but will be entirely disappointed when you find out that the ingredients for totkas don’t exist in the real world or are rare.

– You will hide behind your friends in every photo, so that the only visible thing in the photo is your face.

– Your darzi will mess up your dresses and will blame you for gaining too much weight overnight that the dress doesn’t fit you.

– And then there are your khalas chachis , phopos, scanning you on weddings and whispering “haww haye sugra moti hogai hai”.

– Your  friends are going crazy on gaining two kg. And you’re lying on bed, eating a packet of chips, not complaining about the 10 kg you gained in six months .

– Your best friend will taunt you for whatever you eat, exaggerating the amount of calories so that you can actually starve to death.

– Then there’s the most crucial phase of life – your rishta! You’ll have to wear the best long dress that doesn’t show too much of your body so that you can look slimmer than you are!  – fail –  you will be scanned from head to toe, your could-be-sasural making sure that none of your flaws go unnoticed…

– Finally, you’ll get so fed up that you’ll furiously start stuffing yourself with anything and everything that comes your way until you puke because you don’t give a damn anymore!
