QUETTA – Attempt at Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Friday escaped life attempt in his home town, Balochistan government spokesman said.
The provincial home minister was on an official visit to his hometown when his convoy was hit by a roadside bomb in Baker tehsil of Dera Bugti, however no casualties were reported in the blast, Levies officials said.
The security officials further said that the bomb was remotely controlled and a search operation has been initiated in the area. The bomb exploded moments after vehicle of Bugti crossed the site. One vehicle in the convoy was partially damaged as a result of the blast.
Following the blast, Levies personnel reached the spot and started investigations into the incident. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, however, the Levies officials claim that Baloch separatist might be behind the attack.
Dera Bugti and Kohlu districts are considered to be the most sensitive districts of Balochistan.
