PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Friday registered 35 First Information Reports (FIRs) against various educational institutions in Peshawar just two days after a barbaric attack on Charsadda’s Bacha Khan University left at least 21 people dead.
Pakhtunkhwa Police – acting under the National Action Plan (NAP) – registered FIRs against 32 schools, two non-governmental organisations and a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) sub-office for possessing inadequate security, Cantonment Police Superintendent Kashif Khan said.
Following the Bacha Khan University attack, security around educational institutions had tightened considerably. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was already on ‘high alert’ at the time of the attack.
On other hand, the Punjab government had also issued a circular ordering foolproof security arrangements in public, private, missionary, armed forces, multinational schools, colleges and universities.
