LAHORE – An earthquake of moderate intensity was felt in Lahore, Sheikhupura and other Punjab cities on Wednesday.
Fortunately, there are no immediate reports of any damages or casualties. The tremors were felt in Lahore and adjacent cities at around 12:15pm following which frightened people ran out of their homes and offices. It was second earthquake to hit Pakistan in a day, causing no loss of lives or properties anywhere.
In early hours of Wednesday, a powerful earthquake jolted Peshawar, Islamabad and their suburban areas, triggering panic among the residents. According to the Met Office, the quake was recorded 5.2 on the Richter Scale.
The Met Office said the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Hindu Kush Region of Afghanistan, with a depth of 310 kilometers.
