KARACHI: Dollar remained flat in value versus Pakistani rupee in the interbank market on insignificant demand by importers, said treasurers.
It closed at Rs105.25 for buying and Rs105.45 for selling, they added.
The rupee is likely to remain firm because of the insignificant demand of dollar by the corporate sector for its import payments. Banks are capable to meet their demand, which puts the rupee value firm.
The euro closed at Rs121.11 for buying and Rs121.31 for selling, remained flat in value on dull demand.
The pound sterling closed at Rs137.07 for buying and Rs137.27 for selling. It remained flat in value.
Kerb market: The rupee ended lower in the open currency market, said foreign exchange dealers.
The US dollar closed at Rs107 for buying and Rs107.20 for selling, gaining five paisas from previous session’s level. Earlier in the day, it was trading at Rs106.99 for buying and Rs107.19 for selling.
The pound sterling closed at Rs138.25 for buying and Rs138.45 for selling, with no change from previous session’s level. It was trading at Rs138.24 for buying and Rs138.44 for selling. The euro closed at Rs122.55 for buying and Rs122.75 for selling. It rose by 30 paisas.
