Justice Saqib Nisar takes oath as acting chief justice

ISLAMABAD – Justice Mian Saqib Nisar senior Puisne has taken oath as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan on Thursday.

The oath was administered by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa in a simple but dignified ceremony in the Supreme Court, Islamabad. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will act as the chief justice during the period, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali remains abroad.

The ceremony was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, senior lawyers and officers of the law and Justice Commission of Pakistan. Supreme Court Registrar Arbab Muhammad Arif conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony.

The officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present on the occasion.
