Punjab University launches user friendly new website

LAHORE –Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Monday inaugurated university’s newly-designed official website, supervised by Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen and designed by Muhammad Asim Siddique of the College of Information Technology (PUCIT).

The vice chancellor appreciated the new design and easy accessibility of the website, as Dr Kanwal, convener of the website re-designing committee, briefed about the new design and support of the other committee members. Dr Kanwal is also the chairperson of the Department of Information Management.

The ceremony was held in the committee room of the Vice Chancellor’s office. Academic Staff Association President Prof Dr Hasan Mobeen Alam, Examinations Controller Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Additional Registrar-I Dr Kamran Abid, IT Director Imran Qureshi, Asim Siddique, deans and others were also present on the occasion.

Briefing the meeting, Dr Kanwal said that the outlook of the new website had been changed and access to various links has been made user friendly. She said that access to Higher Education Commission’s database and research journals has been made easier through the website. Urdu version of the website is also available in which further developments are being made.

Dr Kanwal thanked the committee members for playing their role in re-designing the website. The vice chancellor and other academics appreciated the work done by the committee. On the occasion, webmaster Asim Siddique informed the meeting that the old website would also be available for some time.
