Intizar Hussain’s death

Sir: The well-known novelist, short story writer and columnist Intizar Hussain passed away at the age of 92. He was infected by pneumonia and was being treated at the National Hospital. He had written more than 40 books that comprised novels, various compilations of short stories, criticism and translation.

He received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Lahore in 2012. His best novel “Basti” was also nominated for Man Booker International prize. The novel was published in 1979 and its English translation was republished in New York Review of Books Classics. Intizar’s death is really a big loss that cannot be described in words.
