LTC issues route permits for new cab service

LAHORE: Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has issued route permits to facilitate the newly launched ‘A Cab’/taxi service, owned by Trurkish Company Albayrak, as a new initiative of the Punjab government on Thursday. Lahore Transport Company (LTC) Chairman Mehr Ishtiaq and Albayrak Country Head Binyamin Karaca were the chief guests of the launching ceremony on Thursday, which was also attended by LTC CEO Khawaja Haider Latif, Albayrak Managing Director Yashar Arslan, Chief Finance Officer Mariam Khawar, Deputy Managing Director Ahmet Yildrim, Chief Operating Officer Zafar Ahmed, Enforcement DGM and Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed. LTC Chairman Mehr Ishtiaq on the occasion said that this efficient service would pave the way for state of the art transport facilities for the general public that could be availed by commuters within few minutes by calling at UAN number 111-196-196. The taxi/cab service would have digital fare metres and navigation facilities, while drivers would be professionally trained and in proper uniform, he added.  The cab/ taxi service would charge Rs 120 fare from passengers within three kilometres whereas after the first three kilometres, every addition kilometre will be charged at Rs 35. LTC CEO Khawja Haider Latif said that this service would be great initiative for those people who do not have personal vehicles in order to reach at various locations of the city. He said that LTC would also play its part by providing assistance in establishing parking stands in different areas of city, while this service would be inaugurated soon in the coming days.
