NAB seeks record of illegal housing schemes from CDA

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman to provide details of illegal housing societies operating in Zone-I of the federal capital.

According to reports, following the information received from the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Law, Justice and the CDA’s advertisement regarding illegal housing societies, the NAB is probing the matter related to the illegal housing societies of the federal capital to fix the responsibility.

The NAB deputy director of Investigation Wing wrote a letter to the CDA chairman to seek the details of illegal housing societies operating in Zone-I of the federal capital. The letter asked the civic agency to provide list of housing schemes including the detail addresses, year of initiation of scheme, total area of the scheme and names of owners, management and secretaries of the schemes.

The letter further asked the civic agency to provide the present status of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the societies whether it is valid or cancelled. The CDA has also asked by the NAB to provide the present development and construction status in these housing schemes.

While talking to the Daily Times, CDA’s spokesperson Ramzan Sajid told, “NAB is already examining the issue of illegal housing societies and the authority is in full coordination with NAB and we will provide all required information as we also want to identify the elements involved in the illegal development of housing schemes in federal capital.
