ISLAMABAD: Boundary walls of different public schools in sector G7 of the federal capital are in dilapidated conditions, which are posing a question about the safety of students. Currently, hundreds of students are enrolled in public schools of capital city and there is an urgent need to carry out work for repair of boundary walls of these schools besides trimming the bushes in the premises. During a visit to different public schools in capital, it was noticed that about 43 percent walls of the schools require repairing work. A schoolteacher Farzana Hameed called for repairing the dilapidated walls besides trimmimg the wild bushes in the premises of schools. A student Fahad Ahmed said that sometime animals enter the premises due to broken walls at different points. Another student Fayyaz Khan said, “The open ground of the schools are freely used by children of neighbouring localities as playgrounds”. An official of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) informed that 15 schools have been renovated so far while work is underway for the repair and renovation of other schools’ boundary walls.
