BADIN – Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon on Saturday said that the grant to BISP beneficiaries had been increased from Rs 4500 to Rs 4700 per month by March, 2016.
Talking to journalists at Badin Press Club, she pointed out that the balance difference of 8-months of Rs 200 would also be paid by this March. She said that deaths of children in Thar had occurred due to malnutrition. Coping with situation of shortage of food in Thar, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is holding talks with World Food Programme (WFP) and soon, such efforts would bear fruit.
“On special directives of the prime minister I am leaving for Thar where I will meet people and also offer condolence with families who lost their relatives because of famine,” she said.
