Sindh governor rules out Daesh presence in Karachi

KARACHI – Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad on Saturday ruled out the existence of Islamic State militant group in Karachi.

Speaking to media persons here, Governor Ebad said the group has no organisational setup in Karachi. “Existing banned terrorist outfits are trying to associate them with the Daesh,” he said, adding that the Islamic State was a new phenomena and had no organised presence in the Sindh provincial capital.

He further said that the nexus between various terror outfits were already busted in Karachi. His remarks came hours after Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar also dismissed apprehensions about the presence of Daesh in Pakistan.
