FIA doing same with opposition: Zardari

Author: Agencies

KARACHI: Reacting to the criticism of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Zardari Tuesday said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) too is following in the footsteps of NAB. Referring to the prime minister, Zardari said, “Your minister had gone on record to say that Dr Asim Hussain had neither committed any theft nor corruption and yet he is being persecuted for months on end…Mian sahib, the FIA has taken the same path that the NAB had adopted.” He said actions are being taken that are in direct clash with the 18th Amendment. Dr Asim Hussain has been in custody over corruption charges.
