President, PM denounce terrorist attack in Ankara

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the terror attack in Turkey’s capital Ankara that left 28 people dead and 61 injured. In their statements, the two leaders condoled with the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. Turkey has an important role for peace in the world and such coward acts cannot deter it from playing that role, remarked the president. The prime minister said Pakistan stands by Turkey in war against terrorism and hoped the Turkish government would succeed in eliminating the scourge of terrorism soon.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said the government and the people of Pakistan extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He expressed the hope that Turkey will eliminate the scourge of terrorism.

Turkey has vowed to retaliate against the perpetrators of a powerful blast in the capital that left at least 28 people dead and 61 injured.
