Faisalabad: 19 arrested over kite-flying, six injured

FAISALABAD – Police claimed to have arrested 19 people on charge of kite flying during which six persons including five children received multiple injuries during past 12 hours here on Friday.

A spokesman of police told that the administration had imposed ban on kite-flying but despite ban, the people especially youths were found involved in kite flying. During kite flying, six persons, including 12-year-old Muhammad Adeel of Jilani Pura Sitiana Road, 5-year-old Romia resident of Ghokhowal, 5-year-old Hasnain, 5-year-old Rida of Kaleem Shaheed Colony and 48-year-old Shahbaz resident of Mansoorabad, sustained multiple injuries.

Taking serious notice of kite-flying, the district police launched a vigorous campaign and arrested 19 persons red handed while flying kites. Among these persons include Junaid, Aakash, Azhar Nadeem, Ali Raza, Athar, Sadi Ahmad, Abdur Rehman, Kamran, Ali Raza, Muhammad Ali, Tehwar, Taimoor, Sajid, Rehan, Muneer Azhar, Ghulam Abbas and Saqib.

Police also recovered more than 850 kites and other material including bundles of twine from their possession, while further investigation was under progress, spokesman said.
