LLF kicks off in Avari hotel today

LAHORE – Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) 2016 kicks off at Avari Hotel, in inaugural session, Veteran Indian actress Sharmila Tagore talks about her life and film journey.

Sharmila Tagore reaches Lahore on a four-day visit to attend the coveted fest

Bollywood’s renowned film actress Sharmila Tagore on Wednesday reached Lahore on a four day visit to attend the Lahore Literary Festival. According to details, the Indian actress crossed Wagah Border on Wednesday where the Lahore Literary Festival organisers received her. Sharmila Tagore will stay in the city for four days in, which she will attend the opening ceremony of the LLF scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday).

According to the statement issued here on Thursday, the LLF will start on Feb 20 (Saturday) and conclude on Sunday. “We are looking at a truncated festival, but let’s make it a success. It said the updated programme of the event would be released soon,” the statement said. DCO Captain (r) Muhammad Usman Younis said that the CDGL had concerns over security requirements.

He said that the matter had been discussed with the organisers. “Once they give us the required assurance on security measures, an NOC will be issued for two days.” Asked what requirements were needed to be met for events the LLF, Younis said, “It is best not to disclose such things.
