Pakistan to host Asian Tennis Championships in March

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and the Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) will be holding two back-to-back Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Championships in March almost after a decade.

The Pakistan 14 and Under Super Series Tennis championships will be held from March 7 to 20 here at the PTF Tennis Complex, a press release issued here said. It is after almost a decade that the PTF has succeeded ingetting any international events for Pakistan.

PTF said that it hoped that these events would open the doors for other international events to follow. The first leg will be organised and sponsored by the PTF while the second leg by ITA. These ATF-sanctioned events carry ATF ranking points. In the first leg, two boys from Sri Lanka, one from Britain, two boys and one girl from Hong Kong, one Boy from Malaysia and one girl from India (total eight players) have entered besides score of Pakistani young players.

Whereas one boy from Britain, three boys and one girl from Hong Kong, one boy from Iran, one from Malaysia and two boys and two girls from Sri Lanka (total 11players) have entered in the second leg beside number of Pakistani players at the entry deadline.

All foreign players will be given full hospitality whereas all Pakistani players will get complimentary accommodation at the PTF Tennis Complex.
