ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf has filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC), seeking permission to go abroad for treatment. Musharraf’s counsel Farogh Naseem has taken the plea that his client is seriously ill and he is in dire need of treatment. He asked the court to allow his client to go abroad for treatment. He said that Musharraf’s name should be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL). He said that a petition was pending with the SC seeking removal of Musharraf’s name from the ECL. A verdict should be given in this regard as soon as possible so that Musharraf could go abroad for his treatment. Musharraf’s counsel requested the court to issue directives to the federal government to remove his name from the ECL forthwith.
