LARKANA: A 70-year old woman Janat Khatoon Memon died after being hit by the heatwave in Garibabad locality on Saturday.
The residents of the area told media that Sukkur Electric Power Supply Company (SEPCO) authorities have removed the Pole Mounted Transformer (PMT) from the locality two weeks ago and has not yet been installed back due to which all the citizens are suffering seriously in this scorching heat when the mercury has already crossed 50 degrees celsius. It must also be mentioned here that the Water & Power Minister & Ministry has also announced to conduct 4 hours of load shedding in cities, 6 hours in towns and villages due to Ramadan but SEPCO authorities are openly and daringly violating these instructions.
In Ratodero, Naundero and Larkana 8-hours outage schedule has also been announced but unscheduled and forced loadshedding from the grid is being made at all these places in which operation division line staff is also involved to hide their own negligence.
