Beggars hit Dadu city to make good money during Ramazan

DADU: Beggars from various parts of Dadu district have been moved into Dadu city to make money during Ramazan.

Beggars including men, women, children and young teenagers were also seen in busy places of the city like bazaars, shopping centers, main mosques, traffic signals and different points on the Indus Highway at Dadu City.

Talking to Daily Times, a 60-year-old beggar Ishaque Chachar said that he had moved from Johi town and he is staying with other (beggars) friends at a private restaurant paying over Rs 10,000 rent per month. He said that he and others friends come every year to earn money.

He said that his four children are too small and they cannot work at any place. He said that on the day he has sent two thousand rupees to his family members so they can buy things for the holy month of Ramazan.

Another resident of KN-Khairpur Nathan Shah Noor Brohi said that her husband uses narcotics and he was not working for their children. She said that she was helpless and for first time she has come to Dadu City to earn money to support her children. Noor Brohi said that she was walking the streets to earn money. She urged to elected representative to help her family members as they can spend the holy month of Ramazan with good wishes.

Resident of Wadhan Shah Colony in Dadu City, Abrar said that as tomorrow the first sehri would start the holy month of Ramazan beggars have come three days ago and are knocking on doors at the night time without any fear. Abrar said that owing to the increasing number of beggars in Dadu City, citizen are fearful there will be poor law and order in city. He demanded the authorities to make plans for look after beggars in the city. Talking to Daily Times Child Rights Committee Dadu District Coordinater Naiz Chandio said that owing to increasing poverty parents are forced to earn for their children for domestic financial support. Chandio said that in Dadu district 0.1 million children were deprived of their rights.

Chandio said that in Dadu District many children were kidnapped by big beggars and till yet they not abducted by police authorities.
