KARACHI –Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) nominated mayor Waseem Akhtar on Saturday said that Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani are trapped just like Afaq Ahmed, leader of a break-away faction known as Muhajir Qaumi Movement.
Akhtar appeared before the court seeking extension in his bail in a case regarding assisting MQM chief Altaf Hussain in delivering provocative speech against the army, rangers and government institutions.
He said that both Kamal and Qaimkhani would soon realise that they have committed a mistake by returning to Pakistan. He lambasted the two by saying that they are neither politicians nor have any importance.
Waseem said that the development done in Karachi was a result of team work. Anyone would have taken steps for development at that time as former president Pervez Musharraf was providing the funds needed.
Waseem is facing cases in Sohrab Goth and Super Highway police stations for providing assistance in alleged provocative speech by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
