Seven lynched to death in India

JHARKAND: A mob consisting of at least 500 people lynched seven people to death after a fake Whatsapp message regarding child abductions circulated in a village located in the state of Jharkand, according to reports.

Sources stated that a false news regarding the kidnapping of children went viral on Whatsapp in the area which in turn angered a mob of about 500 that reportedly clubbed seven people to death.

Police authorities stated that no kidnappings had taken place in the village and that 20 people had been taken into custody regarding the incident.
