Author: Press Release

KARACHI: Media Hub’s new venture ‘Maalik’ has Ashir Azeem, Ehteshamuddin, Farhan Ally Agha, Sajid Hassan, Tatmainul Qalb, Hassan Niazi, Iram Azam, Adnan Shah, Pakiza Khan and Rashid Farooqui in the lead cast and it will be releasing on April 8, nationally and internationally.

It is an upcoming Pakistani action-thriller film, written, directed and produced by Azeem. ‘Maalik’ is a story of Pakistan’s elite special forces whose lives get entangled with the system. They soon realise that serving the nation is more complicated than simply following orders.

‘Maalik’ is about ownership and the tag line of the film is “Main Pakistan Ka Shehri, Pakistan Ka Maalik Hu”. ‘Maalik’ invites the viewer to take responsibility for their own life and the lives of their loved ones.

The story of ‘Maalik’ has four principal tracks; an Afghan family that escapes from the ravages of the Soviet war in Afghanistan and settles in Karachi, a Special Services Group officer who undergoes a personal tragedy and starts a private security company in Karachi, an idealist school master who suffers greatly under a cruel feudal lord and settles in Karachi and finally a feudal lord who becomes the chief minister and unleashes a reign of terror on all that cross his path.

Azeem is the director, producer, one of the lead cast members and also the writer of the movie. “We are very excited and looking forward to the release of ‘Maalik’, which is on April 8, 2016 and we hope that the audiences like the movie,” he said. The music in the movie is composed by Sahir Ali Bagga and the songs are sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

‘Maalik’ is a story of love, loyalty, honour, family value, idealism, courage and dignity against all odds and across all sections of society from the poor and the struggling to the highest levels of wealth and power. ‘Maalik’ will make you laugh and cry, angry and sensitive, but above all it is the story of every Pakistani that would not be forgotten.
