KARACHI – Disgruntled leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday announced to hold first public gathering of his newly formed party at Bagh-e-Jinnah ground in the city.
“We will hold our first public gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah, which is located in the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam,” he told journalists, without specifying the date of the rally. “We are forming separate forums for women, lawyers and students,” he said, adding that the party’s offices would be opened across Pakistan. Kamal said that he would reveal the name of his party soon.
To a question, he refused to respond to MQM’s criticism, saying people associated with Altaf Hussain’s party are innocent and oppressed. “I will try not to counter the criticism of the MQM leaders,” Kamal said.
He said that people are coming in huge numbers to meet him. Students and lawyers are keen towards joining his ranks, he said. Referring to his busy schedule now-a-days, Kamal said that he does not even has spare time to have a chat with Qaimkhani for 10 minutes.
He further added that separate forums shall be introduced in the party regarding lawyers, students and women. The party offices shall be inaugurated in various cities across the country, said the former Karachi mayor.
