PESHAWAR: One miner was killed while 10 received slight injuries as a coal mine collapsed due to blast caused by gas emission in village Daulai, lower Orakzai Agency on Saturday night, political authorities said. The rescue team safely rescued 16 miners from the spot whereas operation is underway for the safe recovery of other persons who believed to be still under the debris. The injured were shifted to Kalaya Hospital in lower Orakzai Agency and DHQ Hospital in Hangu where condition of some of the injured is stated to be critical. The dead and majority of injured belongs to Shangla district. Meanwhile, KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jagra has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the incident and has directed the authorities to expedite the rescue operation. The owner of coalmine, Malik Noor Akbar Orakzai said that there were only 21 miners present when the incident occurred.
