LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Fazalur Rehman has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured him to address reservations on Women Protection Bill.
Fazl met the premier at Jati Umra and gave him a briefing on the bill and expressed his reservations. He requested Nawaz to amend the bill. While talking to journalists after the meeting he said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has formulated a committee to amend the bill. He said the premier has assured him amendments in any act in the bill that is against the holy Quran and constitution. “We called all religious parties’ meeting in Lahore to review the bill. We will review its different aspects and take a joint decision,” he added.
