What Are We Looking For?

The Earth revolves, so do days and times, and one wonders the meaning of one’s existence. They say life’s a race, a race that determines the headway of one’s life. He who beats others with his celerity, with his refulgence, with his vitals, is a clear winner.

Sooner or later, the questions arrive in our minds, leaving us flabbergasted and wordless. Where am I heading in the life’s journey with obstacles on the way? What good is my existence to anyone? What next? So on and so forth…

When everything seems to be going smooth and you seem to delude under the perception that nothing could go wrong now, it is only then we find out what life is capable of.

Life is short and once it is gone, all doors to the world are closed on you. Perched on the ledge like a bird waiting to take its flight, making sure the predator is far away, the departed soul recalls all that has happened and that has been done.

The struggle of man starts with his birth. He wonders what he wants from life, and when the struggle for the pursuit of happiness would stop. As he further goes down the alley of life, he realises there’s still more, a lot more to come…

Girding up his loins, he continues to walk in the hope that his pangs will be treated, pacifying him, but very little does he know who else is he going to meet on the way – Death.

A reality that no one has been able to reaffirm is death. Causing the traveller to abandon his journey and leave for the life hereafter, death so efficaciously takes the prey.

That is the time when the realisation of the fact is made that there was so much yet to be attained but life had been too short for us to retrieve it.

We look for luxury, for grandeur throughout our lives, neglecting what we already have and what should we be looking for and before we realize this, death has already sung the final lullaby…
