ISLAMABAD – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani paid rich tributes to the phenomenal achievements of the Pakistan Army in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Rouhani – who is on his first visit to Pakistan as a president – met Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Saturday to discuss matters of importance, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
“Matters of regional security, Pakistan-Iran relations, border security and connectivity were discussed during the meeting,” ISPR director general Asim Bajwa said. While the Iranian president paid rich tributes to professionalism of Pakistan Army and its phenomenal achievements in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, General Raheel highlighted the challenges being faced by Pakistan.
The army chief “also discussed the involvement of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Pakistan’s internal affairs especially in Balochistan,” Bajwa tweeted.
