RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has prepared a plan to reduce traffic jams during Ramazan.
According to a statement, special squads of traffic police and wardens are being deployed at all main intersections of the city.
The CTP head office will deploy police teams to handle traffic jams during the fasting month. Moreover, the 1915 helpline will provide 24-hour help and assistance to the citizens.
CTO Yousaf Ali Shahid said arrangements were also being made to ensure smooth flow of traffic around Ramazan Dastarkhawans and Ramazan Bazaars.
The CTO said that parking of vehicles near mosques, Imam Bargahs and other religious places would not be allowed. Under the plan, traffic police officers have been directed to keep an eye on suspected vehicles.
“All efforts would be made by city traffic police to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on city roads mainly for Iftar timing,” he said.
