Islamic varsity’s delegation meets chief justice

ISLAMABAD – A 15-member delegation of 57th Shariah (Islamic Law) Course, headed by Dr Habibur Rehman, associate professor at the International Islamic University of Islamabad called on Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali as a part of their inland study tour here at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The chief justice welcomed the delegation and stated that since Islam was a complete code of life, it was incumbent upon all Muslims to follow its teachings and know about Quran and Sunnah as the major sources of Islamic laws.

He also dilated upon the functioning of the Supreme Court as the apex court and Shariat Appellate Benches of the court. Later, he answered the questions of the participants in an interactive session. Dr Rehman thanked the chief justice and introduced the participants to him.

He thanked the chief justice for sparing time for them and sharing legal experiences and knowledge. The delegation presented souvenir and publications of the Shariah Academy to the chief justice as token of respect and gesture of goodwill. The chief justice also reciprocated the gesture by presenting a memento on the occasion.
