LAHORE – Four persons including women were seriously injured in a collision between a car and two motorcycles in area of Main Boulevard Gulberg, Lahore on early Monday morning.
Three youngsters were racing in two cars and they were showing tricks on busy newly constructed Signal Free Corridor road. During this activity a car went out of control due to over-speeding and first rammed into side foot path than turned turtle around 15 to 20 feet far.
As a result speedy car also hit a bike on which husband and wife received serious injuries. “The accident took place due to the rashly drive of the speedy car,” the eye witness said. They added that two cars – coming from the Hafeez Center – racing each other when the incident occurred within seconds knocked down the bikers and then overturned.
Some of the passers-by rushed to the aid of the victims and informed the police as well as rescue teams. Upon being informed, police and rescue teams reached the spot and started rescue operations.
Later, police arrested the car driver and his accomplices after provided them medical treatment. The injured men were taken to the district headquarters hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition. Further investigation is under way. Other witnesses – who were travelling at the time – said the car driver and other were “lucky to be alive.” “We were driving when we saw a car lose control right in front of them – it was a terrifying sight.
We passed by as the car was spinning in midair to the side of them,” they said, speaking to the Daily Times. A senior police officer said that another car managed to escape from the scene that was racing with damaged car but it all fault of this damaged car driver. He said that police was investigation the matter and registered a case against car driver soon.
